Cruise on the Pearl River

Before we left Guangzhou, we were able to take a boat cruise at night on the Pearl River. Although it was raining lightly, we still got some nice pictures.

In Guangzhou, everything is lit up at night, even the overpasses. They put green lights in the trees that line the river, so it's really pretty at night. Very quaint. Even though Annie liked Beijing better, Mrs. Hubbard preferred the more relaxed pace of Guangzhou. I only wish I had shopped more that last day or two.

In the morning, we had also taken the kids to another little playground with rides. Most of them were for little kids, so Annie didn't get on. This is a picture of the three kids (Xiufen, Amalie, and Ruilei) riding a kid version of the rides that take you up high and then drop you. This one only went up a little bit and slowly dropped them, but the kids loved it anyway. We couldn't tell whether Ruilei did at first since he was screaming the whole time, but he would smile and laugh in between so we knew he loved it. The crowd that gathered wasn't too sure though and I think they thought we were torturing the kids.
